Fish and Dance in Ocala this Weekend

If you’re into fishing and dancing, dive into Ocala this weekend for some exciting events! On October 12th and 13th, whether you’re into eating fish, catching them, or learning Michael Jackson inspired dance moves, Ocala is hosting entertaining options for the whole family to enjoy over the weekend.

Fish Fry and Classic Cars Fundraiser is being hosted by the City of Ocala Recreation and Parks Department on Friday, October 12th from 5-7 p.m.  The event will be held at the Eighth Avenue Adult Activity Center to raise money for their senior recreation programming.  Learn more about the programs being offered by the Center and explore classic cars while enjoying fish fry at $10/plate, live music, giveaways, and an auction.

If you aren’t fished out by Saturday, bring the kids and a change of clothes to the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission Fishing Derby on October 13th beginning at 8 a.m.  Children ages 6-12 can join the derby which provides rods, bait, and instruction by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.  There will also be a casting contest, arts and crafts activity, and other fun hands-on events.  Follow up the derby in Tuscawilla Park with a Mini Concert/Preaching by Draw All Men Ministries from 11 – 4 p.m.

You can’t miss out on Ocala’s largest fall Halloween festival, Thrill the World Ocala hosted by Extensions Dance Studio and Just Entertainment Inc., this Saturday, October 13th from 4 – 10 p.m.  Dress up as a zombie and join the rest of downtown Ocala in dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
