Believe or not, the holidays are just around the corner and festivities have begun! Head over to one of the most exciting events of the year, the 35th annual Light up Ocala celebration this Saturday, November 17th between 4:00-9:00 p.m. in Downtown Ocala.
Surrounded by an illuminated downtown Ocala, the event is themed “Here We Glow Again” this year and features live entertainment with two stages and two entertainment zones, including “Whoville featuring the Grinch.” Stages and entertainment zones are located as follows: Stage One (Downtown Square), Stage Two (Citizens’ Circle), Entertainment Zone 3 (North Lot), Whoville (Marion Theatre). Enjoy the sparkling festive holiday lights while you enjoy over 100 vendors. Entertainment also includes dancing, crafts, lives music, food, and at 6:30 p.m. the annual holiday tree lighting ceremony! The event also features the Junior Sunshine Parade beginning at the corner of S Magnolia Avenue and E Fort King Street at 4:30 p.m. The parade includes local dance studios, Boy and Girl Scout Troops, Cup Scouts Packs, and a marching band. There’s even talk of Santa taking part in the parade!
After the parade, head over on the free shuttle to the Let’s Skate Ocala! Ice rink, located in Tuscawilla Park. The shuttle will pick up guests at the Marion Technical Institute parking lot and return guests to the intersection of NE Watula Avenue and State Road 40 every 20 minutes during the event.
